I hate me some Redick...but you can't compare him to Gansey...
With that said...Redick will go first round by default, helped by this year's weak draft. But there won't be any NBA teams setting 2 and 3 screens a possession to get him open looks. He has trouble creating shots in college, it won't be any easier against 6'6 and 6'7 guards in the NBA. He could become a Fred Hoiberg-ish type player, maybe a Steve Kerr at his absolute ceiling, but that's it.

That's exactly what me and my boss said today about Reddick....
Our words were "He would have a Paxson, Kerr type career".......sure the guy has a nice stroke.....but its not gonna be that easy in the L....how often will he see the zones that he see's now?
Man defense will shut him down completely......and all his followers will see.
We also talked about Duke as a whole and the "success" that their alumni has had in the L.....
From what we came up with it didnt look so hot....
Brand and G. Hill being about the best we could come up with in the "recent" future, for every Brand and G.Hill there is a Laettner, Hurley, and Jay Will. Its still early for Duhon who is playing nicely but only time will tell how he will turn out.

Theres always a spot on a team for a shooter... And how can you say Redick cant make his own shots? Have you not watched a duke game this year? With that said of course its gonna be harder for him to get shots in the NBA since the talent level his higher.. But who knows.. we shall just have to wait and see..

I've watched more Duke games this year than I cared to see.
You can't possibly say that 80% or more of Redick's shots don't come from jumpers off screens. He's gotten better at going to the rack and creating, even tho he's out of control half the time praying for a foul. No one's saying he won't make a roster. He'd be the type of guy that can come in off the bench every now and then and maybe get in a groove and hit 3, 4 treys. That's about the extent for him, unless he can become a great ball handler.
As fas as Duke players in the NBA. They've been getting consistently better, I've noticed. Hill had his time, Brand is the real deal now and so Maggette when he isn't hurt. But instead of absolute flops like Will Avery, Trajan Langdon and Chris Carrawell (just to name a few that Luck didn't), there's more servicable players like Duhon, Battier, Boozer (when healthy) and even Dunleavy on the right nights. They're no UNC...haha...but it's not too bad lately for them.

Even Laettner was a servicable player early on his career...

I never said most of his shots hasnt came off screens, but the past few years he has gotten extremely better at taking people off the ball. Not saying he'll be a star in the NBA, but I could see him be a nice sixth man for someone...

Redick's gonna be a nice pro...of course he can shoot...with his unlimited range and excellent FT shooting, he can definitely play at the end of games...
you can use him like Reggie...or Rip...teams actually still run screens to get their guys open...and he's added a pull up jumper and can take it to the hole...he can draw contact getting to the hole because hell, the best can do that and still have a chance to go to the line...
he'll never be a great defender but he's adequate....he's improved his game ten-fold...

This year, G Mac is trying waaay too hard to be THE leader and THE team, and some of the team seems kind of scared to take responsibility and take their roles, especially in the rebounding game. The game last night proved that. Devendorf has nice talent tho...

The game last night proved that. Devendorf has nice talent tho... He's not trying too hard, he has no other choice....our big men are the worst....they play xtra smedium down low.... Ay yo Jimmy, get off your ass and recruit some quality big men......remember we used to get players like Derrick Coleman, Conrad McCrae?.....get on your job...
