Week Seven Power Rankings
[/size][/b][/u]Number One: Michigan State Spartans - Coach Mo - (6-1) Well, I wasn't able to get it done like I wanted to and Coach Mo and his Spartans are still leading VCL. Tolbert led the way for the Spartans scoring 27 points in the 15 point victory. But what was really key for this team was their defense. Although, Dukes' big three did go off, they shut down all of the role players.
Number Two: Illinois Fighting Illini - Coach Luck - (5-2) Getting the forfeit victory over the missing Coach Donnys' Arizona Wildcats the Illini will take on the Duke Blue Devils, who they humiliated on Dukes home floor in week one. Illinois is going to need to be ready for this game, because we all know Duke will be.
Number Three: Duke Blue Devils - Coach Chill - (4-3) Two weeks straight we will take part in the game of the week. We need to get more players involved because when we play good teams like Illinois and Michigan State we need more than the big three to come out on top. Coach Chill was very angry after the loss to the Spartans. I wouldn't want to be in the same state with this coach if they lose back to back games.
Number Four: Wake Forest Demon Deacons - Coach Stone - (4-3) Wake is on a roll! Three game win streak and they are looking to continue it. After a 33 point victory over Charlotte, Coach Stone is hoping that Donny makes a return so they can play. But if not, this team could be third in the standings come next week. Justin Gray has just beasted out, the past few weeks.
Number Five: Louisville Cardinals - Coach Rhude - (3-4) Coach Rhude is to inconsistent. Garcia was shut down but Taquan Dean stepped up and delivered 24 points. Coach Rhude is certainly in the playoff hunt and looks to improve his status as he takes on his former team.
Number Six: Arizona Wildcats - Coach Donny - (3-4) COME BACK DONALD!
Number Seven: Villanova Wildcats - Coach Hammer - (2-5) Foye stepped up big last week and delivered 24 points. But their star Allen Ray was held to single digits. Hammer needs better production from Ray if he looks to improve his record and be in the hunt for the playoffs. We all need our star players to play big and Hammer is no different. Taking on the top team in the league, we all hope he can do a repeat of week one and knock off the Spartans.
Number Eight: Charlotte 49ers - Coach Gang - (1-6) Coach Gang told his team to just give up in the second half of the game VS the Demon Deacons. He held the ball at mid court and let the shot clock tick away. The game ended in a 33 point defeat and still last place in these power rankings.
